ARRL Field Day
The most popular radio ‘contest’ is ARRL Field Day. It is technically not a contest, but scores are kept and submitted. Points are awarded for contacts, and other club activities, such as satellite operation, public information booth, contact with news agencies. OTVARC usually operates from Stubb Stewart State Park in Buxton/Vernonia.

Winter Field Day
Winter Field Day is not associated with the ARRL, but it is very similar. They believe that an emergency can happen at any time, even when the weather is bad. These cold conditions make operating different than in the summer months.

CQ Worldwide DX
