There are many different radio kits, all with varying skill levels needed to complete. I have assembeled a few kits, but I would not describe myself as an expert. Regardless, here are some kits that I have found that you may like to try.
By no means is this list an complete list. There are many other sellers online that will sell kits for nearly every radio application. Just beware of online sellers that don’t provide documentation. If you would like to search for neat kits to build, try 4 State QRP Group – LINK .
Another great designer is W1REX. He sells many tuna can and mint tin size kits. Including full QRP CW transcievers. His website is https://qrpme.com/
Beginner Kits
Easy Digi – https://ebay.io/m/hH0AVB
A great kit to start is the Easy Digi Kit from KF5INZ. These are essiential for connecting radios audio signals to a PC. They can be wired for nearly and modern radio including handhelds. I have soldered a few of these, and they work great! Many of my early APRS stations used this kit to connect to the radio.
Intermediate Kits
AM/FM Radio Kit – LINK
How just build an entire radio? In this kit you will learn the different parts of the radio while assmebling. I personally have seen one of these built, and it was really neat. I would have benefitted greatly if I started with this project.
